Randy and Sonia Helgeson have been the on-site Camp Hosts since the fall of 2012. Randy’s extensive construction background made him a perfect fit for the camp. Sonia handles the day-to-day bookwork and reservations and together they strive to follow God’s plans for them and for Camp Dellwater.

The family has an incredible heart for missions and Randy, Sonia and Maria have served on several missions teams, both foreign and domestic. In addition, Randy ministers to those in recovery, coordinating and leading Celebrate Recover meetings in the north country.

Sonia’s typical mission field lies much closer to home. Most days, she is busy homeschooling Daniel and Claire, in between the day-to-day tasks of home, and Camp. She also enjoys all things crafty and can often be found quilting, sewing, knitting or dyeing up her own yarns.

Maria spends most of her time at her own home in northern Minnesota, but visits frequently to camp, hunt and explore the trails.

Daniel and Claire love growing up at Camp Dellwater, seeing friends return each summer and making new ones. They are both very talented musicians and love playing at the beach, ice fishing and making chalk art at the basketball court.

All of them very much enjoy outdoor activities, boating, ATVing, and bike rides.
